  1) braces off! probably Cece's highlight of the year, not just the month! what originally was planned to be four months of braces (in the first phase of orthodontic work) turned into six. at month four when she was scheduled to have them taken off, the orthodontist said her teeth weren't quite where they needed to be - and the same thing happened the next month. poor thing was so disappointed! we all kept our fingers crossed that the third time would be the charm and finally, it was! we celebrated at Antney's and then she continued the celebrations the rest of the week with a bucket full of treats from the orthodontist's office that are expressly forbidden when braces are on.  POPCORN!!! 2) the aviary. our friends have a premium membership to the aviary, and were able to get both of our families in for free. the penguins and flamingoes were a predictable hit. they have a new raptor show that cost $4 per person and was well worth it -- no photos were allowed there, but...

  1) spring sports. Cece's developmental basketball team finished the season with a bang at a tournament held by a local school. the third grade team is comprised of such sweet girls and I'm excited to see them continue to grow together! their last practice was a scrimmage between parents and girls which was hilarious. I played for just a few minutes and managed to double dribble which earned me a talking-to from the coach, to the intense amusement of all the kids (and the censure of Cece, who told me later, "Mommy! you KNOW better!").  besties after winning their semifinal consolation game Elizabeth can't wait for her turn on the court! a lot of these parents were really good!! I provided the comic relief no sooner did basketball end than developmental volleyball began. with practice from 3:30-5 PM, my friends and I quickly devised a carpool plan to pick the girls up from school and get them to the gym, and then pick the girls up after practice and drop them at h...
